LabelCompat · media

Know your media format.

Compare tape cassettes, registered rolls and open-format thermal media. Understand how printer technology, sensing and SKU identity affect compatibility checks.

Tape cassettes

Self-contained tape supplies selected by exact family and model compatibility.

Registered label rolls

Label stock whose feed and recognition must match a particular printer system.

Open-format thermal media

Media selected by technology, dimensions, sensing and handling requirements.

Technology and feed format must agree

A roll shape does not tell you whether the coating reacts directly to heat or requires a ribbon. Nor does the word “tape” prove that a cassette fits a particular bay. Start with the manufacturer’s media family and exact model, then compare dimensions and application needs.

Use the right route through the evidence

  1. For a Brother cassette, open the TZe tape guide and verify the exact SKU.
  2. For a Brother label roll, compare DK continuous and die-cut formats.
  3. For DYMO, verify the LabelWriter generation and recognition rules.
  4. For Zebra, use the configuration-specific media requirements.
  5. For Rollo, check direct thermal paper and feed guidance.
